Self-proclaimed Bitcoin creator wins defamation lawsuit and awarded R$6

Craig Steven Wright (CSW), a man who claims to be the creator of Bitcoin, won a defamation lawsuit against a YouTuber on Monday (1). However, its “price” was only 1 British Pound (R$6.31), generating more jokes within the community.

In the case, CSW complained that Peter McCormack had caused “serious damage” to his reputation when he assured that he was not Satoshi Nakamoto, creator of Bitcoin, in a video posted on YouTube and 14 other tweets.

As reported by Live PartsMcCormack’s defense claimed that Wright would even forge evidence. In any case, that was not enough to change the course of the process.

Craig Wright gets £1 in lawsuit

Besides claiming for years that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, Craig Wright has already troubled many in the Bitcoin community with his lawsuits. The most famous of these called for the removal of the BTC whitepaper from the website.

In the most recent case, which ended on Monday (1), Wright won a libel suit against YouTuber Peter McCormack, who repeatedly claimed he was not Satoshi Nakamoto.

However, what caught the community’s attention was the value to be received by Wright of £1. According to Cobra, already handled by CSW in caso do white paperthis value symbolizes the jury’s contempt for the case.

“In this case, the judge said Craig had presented a ‘deliberately false case’ and awarded Craig £1, which was essentially ‘fuck you’ in judicial terms.”’s Cobra talks about the Craig S. Wright lawsuit.

McCormack was also happy with the decision, thanking his legal team as well as the judge, saying he was happy with his decision. However, he noted that the process is not complete and therefore will not comment further.

“As some of you may have seen, judgment in my lawsuit against Dr. Craig Wright has already been delivered,” wrote the youtuber sued by CSW. “I want to thank my lawyers for their diligent work on the case. I also want to thank Judge Chamberlain for this outcome. We are very pleased with their conclusions.

No one believes

Also known as Faketoshi – Fake Satoshi – Wright doesn’t seem to convince anyone of his story. After all, his strategy is to sue everyone, when he could just sign a message with the first address Nakamoto used.

In another controversial lawsuit, CSW claims cryptocurrency exchanges misuse the name Bitcoin. In other words, he asserted that the BTC is not Bitcoin and that this alleged fraud would involve billions of dollars.

In the end, the only ones who seem to be making money from this story are his lawyers, always working on repetitive cases that never manage to connect Wright to the creation of Bitcoin.
