HP Specter x360 review: too good

The market is full of laptops, and often the one that stands out from the rest is its design, and that is precisely what happens with the Spectrum x360yes resume. In addition to very interesting technical characteristics, it is a laptop that stands out.

I had the opportunity to test the material for a few weeks, and now it’s time to reveal my opinion on it. But above all, this HP Specter x360 is a 2-in-1 device, which, as I had already revealed, stands out for its impressive design.

It really is a Premium device, and you can feel it right away by the materials chosen by the company, in which the brushed metal available in different color combinations immediately stands out. Its 360-degree hinge, which allows the screen to fully retract, turning it into a tablet-like device, feels solid and reliable. On its right side, we’ve engraved the word ‘Spectre’ – a nice touch that further enhances the device’s overall premium feel.

In terms of connections, it has an audio jack and a full-size USB port on the right (the inclusion of a full-size USB port is a nice touch for such a thin and light laptop), as well as two USB-C ports. , a microSD port, and a physical webcam kill switch on the left. The latter lets you turn off the webcam when you’re not using it, which is a nice feature for privacy-conscious people.

We open the HP Specter x360 and are greeted by a bright, vibrant display surrounded by extremely thin bezels. This gives the device a modern look while reducing the overall size of the laptop.

The keyboard is large and pleasant to use, with the keys offering decent travel. They’re also backlit, so you can comfortably use them in low-light conditions. Plus, the touchpad is nice and responsive. It’s wider than you’d expect from a laptop of this size, giving you a bit more room to wiggle your fingers. There’s also a fingerprint scanner to the right of the touchpad for logging into Windows.

By turning the screen back as far as possible, the Specter x360 is used as if it were a tablet, its large touch screen works very well. However, despite being a thin and light laptop, compared to a “standard” tablet, that makes this Specter x360 a bit heavy and bulky. However, having the ability to use the laptop in this way is certainly a bonus, but it’s not an ideal replacement for a standard tablet. To be fair, the Specter x360 is far more successful as a laptop.

The unit I received for testing, inside I have an Intel processor, the Core i7. It’s a quad-core processor that can run at a maximum of 4.70 GHz, which I can tell you is really, really, really fast.

Spectrum x360

Pair this processor with its 16GB of RAM, I can guarantee the HP Specter x360 delivers excellent performance, making Windows very fast and responsive. Multitasking, with several applications open at the same time, in addition to numerous Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome tabs, did not serve to diminish the performance of this Specter x360 either.

For everyday use, the Specter x360 delivers the kind of performance everyone expects from a high-end laptop, and it certainly won’t disappoint those expecting a seriously fast device. However, don’t expect to be able to run heavy games on this laptop, it’s just that for graphics we have the Intel’s Iris Plus. It is true that this integrated GPU promises much better performance compared to the integrated graphics of previous generations, but it still does not perform miracles. Although it’s not a gaming laptop, it still manages to run some of the best PC games that don’t have particularly high hardware requirements. Games like GTA5, FortniteLeague of Legends and CS:Go manage to run without major difficulties, but newer and heavier games, stay out of them.

One of the biggest concerns for anyone buying a laptop is battery life, which doesn’t disappoint here. It lasted just over 10 hours in my own battery life test, which I think is excellent.

After 2 weeks of use, I felt the Specter x360 battery was good and balanced. You can easily get through a whole day of work with this laptop, making it a great tool for anyone looking for a device that delivers great performance, looks great, and doesn’t need to be plugged in when you are on the move.

Veredicto Final HP Specter x360

The Specter x360 is definitely a good laptop, because it offers very interesting performance, very good battery life, but above all for their premium design, which makes it one of the best looking I’ve ever used.

The fact that it is a 2-in-1 device is also a plus. That doesn’t make it a great tablet, but it’s a very useful feature, especially when it comes to mobility.

As such, my rating for the HP Specter x360 is:
