Logitech G535 Lightspeed review. The new gaming headset from your favorite brand

Bone Logitech The G535 Lightspeed is the latest product in the line of mid-range wireless headphones from the famous Logitech brand. G535s are what happens when companies know what they’re doing, Logitech took the existing Logitech G335s, cut the wire and added a touch of Technology super low latency for good performance.

The Logitech G535 is a high-end gaming headset quality which offers superior sound and voice. The headphones are equipped with a microphone that can be turned on/off, and they also have a volume control. The headphones have an impedance of 36 ohms and a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. It is compatible with PC, Mac, PS4 and Xbox One.

Retailing for $125 puts them at a pretty saturated price point, and that directly competes with some of the best gaming headsets on the market. Compared to a myriad of options, a basic spec sheet and lack of distinguishing features may put the Logitech G535 behind the competition. Is it worth it? We’ll see.

Design

The Logitech G535 has an unsurprising design at first glance, with an understated aesthetic that moves away from the usual RGB dynamics often found in gaming headsets. Instead, it has an all-black plastic industrial design from the pads to the band, with the only added touch being a strip of stretchy fabric that has a different coloring.

The band in my sample has a purple and teal coloring that gives it a little edge so it doesn’t look totally boring. It’s a curious touch given that the rest of the headphones are so understated, but definitely stand out from the black with a pop of color. To taste.

In your hands, the Logitech G535 does not hide that it is plastic but robust. There’s no metal in these headphones, but that translates to an incredibly lightweight build. As soon as I took it out of the box, I was impressed with how light it was, despite the generously proportioned earpads on either side. Weighing just 236 grams, the G535 is easily in the top 5 lightest wireless headphones I’ve ever tested.

Each pillow features well-padded memory foam and a sturdy fabric cover. These covers aren’t as soft as some leather or velor options, but they do provide breathability during long sessions. Overall, with an easy fit and generous padding, the Logitech G535 excels when it comes to comfort.

Product Features

In terms of features, the Logitech G535 is simple but competent. On the left ear cup you have the volume control, on/off switch and microphone – which isn’t detachable but has a handy folding feature to mute the sound. Personally, I would have liked more media controls, but the switches that are available are perfectly functional and easily accessible in the heat of the moment.

Although not listed on the packaging or website, the Logitech G535 headset is supported with the brand’s G Hub software. Downloading this package gives PC users access to a ten-band equalizer with various presets, a drums, and a noise canceling switch. These features are interesting but completely optional. If you’re using a PS5 or Xbox Series X, don’t feel like you’re missing too much, as the Logitech G535 works just fine without additional settings.

The package includes a USB to USB-C charging cable and a USB dongle. Although it’s wireless, the Logitech G535 doesn’t support Bluetooth, so keep that in mind if you’re using a port-limited device. Also note that the G535 is not compatible with the Nintendo Switch.

The characteristic sheet is generally short. Simply put, there are no surround sound options, THX certification or touch controls – all of which are supported by the latest third-party headphones. Instead, Logitech has opted for a good plug-and-play philosophy, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you prefer simplicity.

Performance

Despite its simple and unimpressive aesthetic features, the Logitech G535 was clearly designed with performance in mind. In my testing of this PC headset, I was impressed with how fantastic it sounded with minimal adjustment – while providing a rare level of comfort.

The 40mm drivers, while not the biggest I’ve seen in a headset, produce a satisfying level of volume and bass in everything from my daily playlist to the most demanding gaming sessions. more intensive. During my hours of testing, I had duly resounding results. Even in the most chaotic scenes, the action was easy to understand, and in quieter scenes, it was easy to grab a nearby enemy by clearly hearing their footsteps.

Even in longer, quieter sessions, the Logitech G535 also held up well. During long sessions, comfort meant the Logitech G353 was an ideal companion.

The Logitech G535s are listed as having 33 hours of battery life on the brand’s website, but I personally got around 30 hours of play time before they needed charging. It’s not as high as expected, but overall still very respectable. As always, results may vary.

Should I buy the Logitech G535 Lightspeed?

The Logitech G535s are excellent gaming headsets and represent a simple, great-sounding device worth considering if your budget is in the $125 range. Not only do they sound great, but their lightweight yet strong design provides a fantastic level of comfort even during the longest gaming sessions.

Areas for improvement include the all-plastic build, which doesn’t feel as premium as some headphones that cost a similar amount, and the lack of support for Nintendo Switch or Bluetooth connections. All that aside, it’s definitely worth checking out if your gaming rig is PC, PlayStation, or Xbox.

Verdict
