Xiaomi adds a new 2-in-1 tablet and Smart Band 7 to its smart “world” of connected devices

More 520 million users and more than 475 million connected IoT devices worldwide, excluding smartphones and Wearables are impressive figures of the ecosystem that Xiaomi has developed and which already integrates a very diverse range of products, ranging from smartphones to smart home equipment. Today Xiaomi shows in Paris how it wants to continue to develop the connection between the smartphone and the connected equipment and brings news in several areas, which will soon arrive in Portugal.

The bet on expanding the range of connected products has been one of Xiaomi’s strategies, which goes far beyond smartphones and Pierre Houard, Marketing Director France says he feels like he’s launched a thousand products in the past 4 years, and the feeling won’t be far off the mark. The first smart band was launched 5 years ago, and after that Xiaomi launched its first scooter and in 2019 the first TV in Europe, but the product range is much wider.

One of the highlights of the Discover Xiaomi 2022 presentation is the new Xiaomi Book S 12.4″. This is Xiaomi’s first 2-in-1 laptop in Europe and follows Microsoft’s line of Surface models, designed to work on the go. Already under Windows 11, the tablet has a 12.4-inch touchscreen It has a peak brightness of 500 nits and an LCD resolution of 2,560 x 1,600, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor.

Xiaomi argues that this is the best way to balance personal and private life, in a equipment designed for hybrid work and videoconferencingin terms of camera and sound quality.

The tablet has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front cameraready for video conferencing sessions that will be clearer with two microphones and two 2W speakers.

O 65W load it is made with a smaller and lighter charger, a single solution to charge all equipment, from tablet to smartphone, but Xiaomi also highlights the optimization of the battery which has an estimated duration of 13 hours or more.

New Book S will arrive in Portuguese stores from June 29 and in the first days you can buy the equipment with the keyboard for 699 euros, but after July 3 you will have to pay an additional 150 euros to have the accessory. The Smart Pen is not part of the initial “package” and costs 99 euros more, to be used in drawings or to take notes in presentations.

the new group Xiaomi Smart Band 7 is another of the highlights of today’s presentation, with a “reinforced” version of the Xiaomi bracelet. The screen is larger than Version 6, up 25%, at 1.62 inches and a custom AMOLED display. The bracelet has more than 110 sports modes and is more “breathable” to follow the training effort.

O the first smart band model was released 5 years ago and it is one of Xiaomi’s most successful products, so expectations for this new release are high.

Sport modes let you adjust your goals to your type of training and lifestyle, and there’s three additional modes, training load, recovery time and training effect that help with customization. In terms of sensors, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 has a new analysis of the maximum amount of oxygen to be used in training, VO2 max and allows sleep control, blood oxygen measurement (SpO2) and heart rate.

A the battery has also been improved to last up to 14 days in standby mode and the band can be used for training in the rain and even for swimming.

A Xiaomi Smart Band 7 will go on sale today in Portugal with a launch price of 49.99 euros until June 26. From this date, the sale price to the public increases to 59.9 euros.

Among the novelties that will arrive in Portugal, but at a date to be defined, is the new Scooter 4 Pro, with a 700W motor and capable of reaching 25 km/h. The battery capacity is 12,400 mAh and Xiaomi guarantees that it can cover a distance of up to 45 km on a single charge. Safety is one of the priorities and that is why the company now has 10-inch pneumatic tires and a layer that protects them from punctures but which also makes them safer, and a dual rear braking system with eABS at the front.

Also count on a magnetic charger, which is placed more conveniently, and an easy folding to store the Scooter quickly. For Portugal, the date of sale and the price are being defined, but on the European market the scooter will cost 800 euros.

A new television was also presented, the Xiaomi A2 TV, with dimensions between 32 and 58 inches and supporting 4K, with Dolby Vision. The TV has built-in Android TV, with Google Assistant and Chromecast for easier streaming from phones, tablets or laptops. You can even control other IoT devices via the remote.

There is no date yet for the arrival of the TV in Portugal, but in some European markets it will be on sale in June 2022, with a price that starts at 449 euros for the 42 inches.
