Now that Qualcomm has unveiled the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, it’s time for smartphone makers to make their reveals.
OnePlus, Realme and Asus have already confirmed new terminals with this chip, but Xiaomi and Samsung could also present new tops with the Qualcomm processor. We have prepared a list of new smartphones that will arrive equipped with the upgraded Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 version.
1. OnePlus 10 Ultra
It was on the Chinese social network Weibo that OnePlus confirmed that it would launch a smartphone with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. September.
But, aside from the now-confirmed chip, few details are known about OnePlus’ next flagship. The terminal should provide support for a fast charge of 150 watts, since the brand has already integrated it into another terminal available on the Chinese market of the Ace series.
Another of the rumors put forward is that the OnePlus 10 Ultra will be the first equipment of the brand to integrate a periscopic lens in its rear camera configuration, in addition to this the optical part should carry the Hasselblad seal.
2. Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition
Like OnePlus, Realme also took to social network Weibo to confirm that the new GT 2 Master Explorer Edition will feature the upgraded version of the Qualcomm chip.
But the brand did not advance the release date or reveal the specifications. On the other hand, there are also no rumors that advance what we can expect to see in this new Realme terminal.
The only information available is that the design was in charge of the Japanese Naoto Fukasawa, who has already collaborated with Realme in the design of other terminals. It is also claimed that the back panel of the smartphone will be quite comfortable to use, as it simulates the feeling of touching paper.
3. Asus ROG Phone 6
In turn, Asus announced on the social network Twitter that the new ROG Phone 6 gaming smartphone will arrive with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
According to the information published so far, thanks to the integration of this chip, the Phone 6 will have 15% better performance and energy efficiency than its predecessor.
In other words, with the new Asus ROG Phone 6, users will get 70 minutes more battery life for games and 14.5 hours more for music playback. Values that promise to conquer the market.
No information is available on other technical specifications or the release date of the terminal, but we should have access to more details in the coming weeks.
4.Xiaomi 12 Ultra
Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed which of its smartphones will have the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, but it looks like it will be the 12 Ultra photography model.
The terminal should arrive with this chip at the controls and coupled with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage.
The optical part will be one of the strongest arguments of this terminal. The rear triple camera setup will feature the 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 sensor. The remaining sensors will be an ultrawide with a resolution of 48 megapixels and a telephoto sensor also with 48 megapixels and 120x digital zoom.
For the rest, it will have a 6.73-inch display with 2K resolution and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be powered by a 4,900mAh battery supporting a 120 watt fast charge.
5. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
In August, Samsung is expected to launch the new foldables, including the Galaxy Z Flip4. Recently, the Ice Universe leaker revealed that the terminal, equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, had gone through the GeekBench platform.
Apart from incorporating the upgraded version of the Qualcomm chip, the foldable is also expected to feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB variants of internal storage capacity.
Other rumors have also claimed that the device will arrive with a larger battery, now 3,700 mAh, which will support 25-watt fast charging.
6. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4
Samsung’s other foldable arriving in August is the Galaxy Z Fold4 which is also touted to have the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.
The new foldable is expected to have a squarer shape than its predecessor. Another piece of news is that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will also be thinner and lighter than the previous model. Recall that the Galaxy Z Fold3 weighs 271 grams, and, it seems, the successor will reduce this weight by a few grams.
Apparently, Samsung will also change the dual-hinged design to a single-hinged mechanism, to make this foldable device more compact and sturdy.
